It's a 180-degree view as a living painting that are offered to you in an exceptionnel setting: the village of Saint-Paul-de-Vence in the open field, the lights of the Mediterranean Sea at Cap d'Antibes , a sunset over the Estérel massif... As soon as you arrive, the gate sets the tone: in hammered wrought iron, tailor-made and created especially for the house, it reveals
the cactus garden and the stone paving. In the garden, cactus bring power; cica- agave-citrus, volume; the grasses, the movement.
The exterior lighting of the house has also been designed to enhance this harmonious plant ensemble, but also the property which features magnificent wall lights created by a Greek artist. A home automation system makes it possible to manage the lighting zones according to individual preferences. But before night falls, the days at the villa "Les Restanques" will be conducive to contemplation and relaxation. The swimming pool of 10 meters by 5 meters supplied with salt water extends the large terrace. With its submerged beach, they overlook panorama that you can't get enough of: the mythical village of Saint-Paul-de-Vence in the foreground; the sea, Cap d'Antibes and the Estérel in the background.
There, by the pool on an aged teak deckchair (Tailor-made in Indonesia), sunbathing has a special flavor. Just like the moments of relaxation – always with a view – under one of the beach umbrellas. Unless you prefer the calm of the deckchairs below, in the shade of the olive trees. Or the comfort of an outdoor canopy bed for resting. Because necessarily, a villa with large dimensions and different levels offers varied options, for all tastes. For example, the petanque ground surrounded by greenery, conducive to lively games at the end of the day.
If the exterior is an invitation to pleasure, the interior is a visual cocoon. The tone is resolutely that of minerality and warm colors, which sublimate this house, in the spirit of decorator Annabel Kutucu.
You enter through a door in old wood and wrought iron, made by a passionate local carpenter. We discover the universe of the decorator where lime dominates the walls.
This first level serves three suites.
- The 1st is a master bedroom, the centerpiece of the villa with its oversized door, its stone floor, its exposed beams and its imposing headboard of almost 4 meters, made of old Canadian wood. In the bathroom, the bathtub is another place of relaxation with an oak canopy, as is the shower and its massage jets.
- In the 2nd suite, natural fibers are given pride of place for the night section; the bathroom is clad in white waxed concrete and two huge floor-to-ceiling mirrors.
- The 3rd bedroom has a more intimate tone with its four-poster bed and its Versailles parquet floor; the bathroom features terracotta, produced locally.
To access the lower floor, you take a staircase punctuated with beautiful silk suspensions created in Vietnam and adorned with a lovely fresco.
Downstairs, therefore, the 4th suite has been designed in a very southern spirit with its louvered doors and touches of yellow. The bathroom is also dressed in yellow with custom-made terracotta tiles made by the Versace workshop. It is this same level – that of the terrace – which hosts the open kitchen where wood, travertine and lime rub shoulders.
Meals are shared on a 3-meter table specially created by the decorator, in hammered wrought iron and burnt wood Versailles style, highlighted by white linen chairs and silk hanging lamps.
Two living rooms are available to the inhabitants: a living room-fireplace with its curly wool sofas (exclusive creation) and its window framed on Saint-Paul; or a TV lounge with its Gervasoni white linen sofas and its 4-metre bay window with a view.
Of course, you could just as easily have had your meal outside on the eastern part of the terrace and return to enjoy the evening lights in the garden...Thus the bright days pass at the villa "Les Restanques" whose common point will be this view which definitely gives a unique Charm to the place.
